It is now 2023! I am preparing to visit my mother for Thanksgiving, just as I did five years ago where I heard of your passing and subsequent funeral. I am taking a time of pause to contemplate how your ABSENCE changed everything and how your PRESENCE also changed everything.

Then I guess that means that whether you are here with us, or with the Lord, (absent from the body, present with the Lord), your life (now your spirit) still makes a difference. I refuse to think of you as a distant memory, but rather as a constant and ever present reminder of the value of living a peaceful life, guided by wise counsel and godly wisdom.

Betty, I pray that those who stand on your strong shoulders, who you have lifted up (including me), will continue your legacy of "thoughtful consideration" on all matters of the heart and soul and will continue the inheritance you left us of speaking the truth, living with integrity, and spreading God´s form of justice (always with love) throughout the generations and into infamy.

I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus and in the memory of a life well lived before God and the world.

Extended condolences to the family for your loss.

I wish you were here! This past year has been so full of change. The world has turned right side up again, but all around us are signs that nothing will ever be the same.

The perfect analogy of how I feel around this time every year. It just feels like nothing will ever be the same.

I probably say something like this every year and it is true. I recall so vividly walking up the stairs to your home and being filled with the beauty of your gardens. I would often peek through the large picture window, while I waited for you at the door. It was something a little girl would do in anticipation of seeing something magical. And I was never disappointed!

We would take a tour through the house and you would show me all of your beautiful dolls and lovely fabrics and florals and laces and special pieces. I would touch them all. They spoke to that part of me that appreciates quality and beauty.

We could talk for hours, while simultaneously browsing through decorating magazines. We would share our dreams, Pains, Joyce, disappointments and eat pie and drink tea. You always had something to fill all the natural senses and the spiritual heart.

We were sister friends, cut from the same cloth.

I think you are saying to me that enough is enough and now it´s time to move on. Move on from losing/mourning you and move on from my own personal losses to get back to creating magic. That kind of magic that feeds the whole self and the needs of others.

Thank you my dear friend for sharing your creative magic with me. And I should do the same. Until we meet again on the other side.

My beloved friend! Another year has come and gone and I still see your light and feel your presence!

Betty, you left us all with so much to contemplate and to do. It was your gift that keeps on giving!

So, we go on living without you, but every day I and others are inspired and/or influenced by something you, Betty Wright, said or did. That is the witness of your life well-lived.

I love you, I miss you, and I am so very grateful that we are forever sisters in Christ! 2021

To the family, you have my sincere condolences. When someone falls asleep in death (Ecclesiastes 9: 5,10) the memories we have of them become our treasure. May those memories comfort you as well as Gods promise at John 6:40.

Betty Jean Wright...Lifetime friend, trusted confidant, wise counselor, women of God, beloved sister in Christ. You are one of the most courageous and graceful persons I have ever known. So sacred is your place in my heart that even with your transition, your Spirit will always remain a beacon of light and a source of earthly strength. I will always remember how you and your sisters encircled me (as spiritual warriors) and helped to lift me up out of the miry clay, so that my feet were set (and remain to this day) on a firm foundation. Hallelujah! Though saddened that I can no longer pick up the phone and hear your comforting voice, I celebrate your life by looking to the future and living out my lifes purpose with the grace and courage I gleaned from you.
I love you so much.
