Carl J. Doro

Milwaukee - Carl J. Doro, 85, of Milwaukee departed December 6, 2020 at Scottsdale, AZ. Born and raised in Milwaukee, son of Raymond and Marie (Zylka) Doro, brother of Judy (Sexton), all who preceded him. Carl was a family man who enjoyed giving back to his community. A 1979 graduate of MATC in Architectural Technology, he worked for the City of Milwaukee for 25 years as a Neighborhood Rehabilitation Specialist where he architecturally redesigned HUD's foreclosed homes, managed their restoration and sale at cost. Honored by Milwaukee Public Schools for volunteering; his 1931 Ford Model "A" won first place as "Vets' Choice" at Milwaukee VA Hospital and he received commendation from Milwaukee's mayor at his retirement. He loved and restored old cars and old houses, enjoyed jazz and loved his grandkids and dogs. Carl is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille (Byers); 5 children, Peggy Moran (Thomas Maglio), Patricia Hashimoto (Michael); Barbara Shields, Christine (Ken McGee) and John; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.
