To Eileen: We were classmates in school many years ago. My sister sent me the link since she knew that you and I were classmates (Wilbur Wright Jr. High and Washington High - or did you go to the new school that year?). Actually, both of my sisters had someone from your family in their classes. My sympathies to you and your family in your loss. I know how it is as we lost our mother 6 years ago. God bless.

This past Sunday, I had thoughts of your mom as I had been told by Al (#3) of her condition the previous day. Flashback to 1961. It's a Sunday, late afternoon, and unknown to his mom, #3 has invited me to dinner. And Fred has invited freinds. And there are other peoples kids there too. Hey everybody, it's bakin' pan pizza nite at the Alts. With a whirlwind of activity all around her, she turns to greet me with a most warm and welcoming smile. In almost 50 years of knowing your mom, I came to expect that smile whenever we met. Even now, I can close my eyes and see her caring smile. Can't you too! What a beautiful and loving woman. Keep up that smile you Alts.

Eccl 7:1 says A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one's being born. What a blessing to have many years to have made a memorable name. May the God of all comfort be with your family.

I was so sorry to hear the sad news and will keep you all in my prayers. I have so many sweet memories of "Carol & Rollie" at our home and I loved the few times I was able to visit the Alt household. It was so BUSY!!! So many people ... it made me laugh. Quite a legacy. I will make sure to make a donation to the retired sisters at St. Mary's at Notre Dame and will also have my daughter light a candle at the Grotto. God bless you, every last one!

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I remember her with a smile on her face as she talked about her children. I remember her sitting in front of the ironing board with a cup of iced coffee, ironing the many piles of clothes stacked up around her. A simply wonderful person, she gave me many wonderful childhood memories along with the rest of the family. How lucky you all were to have her as your mother for so long.

My condolences to all of my cousins, that I have not seen in many years, for your loss. I have often thought of you. How us Bunda's would pile in the station wagon and go to your house or y'all coming by our house. It has been many years since I have seen any of you. Eileen, I am so glad I was named after you! I just love our name. Love and prayers to you all!
