Charles Daniel Obituary

Daniel, Charles H. "Chuck" Of Brookfield, died on July 25, 2012, at the age of 79. Beloved and cherished husband of 55 years of Marilyn (nee Noesen). Dearest brother of Janet (the late Richard) LeGros. Cherished son-in-law of Frances (the late Frank) Noesen; and brother-in-law of John (Brenda) Noesen. Proud uncle of Michelle (Mark) Nader, Daniel (Julie) LeGros, Craig (Carrie) LeGros, Paul LeGros, Chuck (Kelly) LeGros, Mark Noesen, Margo (Michael) Hanschke and Christopher (Kristina) Noesen. Chuck was a Renaissance man with a passion for learning and life who valued his Jesuit education from Marquette University. He pioneered information technology at Harnischfeger, where he was the Director of Information Systems, and at S.C. Johnson. Photography, travel, music and other intellectual interests were among his passions. Chuck served with the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany after the Korean Conflict. Upon his return he met the love of his life, Marilyn, due to his darling sister. Chuck and Marilyn were married at Mother of Good Council in Milwaukee on August 17th, 1957. Memorials to Marquette University, Catholic charities or the Rescue Mission are appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, July 30, from 5 to 7PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 31, at 11 AM, at St. Mary's Visitation Parish, 1260 Church St., Elm Grove, followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. Oh, Marilyn. Chuck was such a remarkable human being, and I dearly looked forward to our annual visits. Truth be told, we spent so much time catching up on neighborhood news and reminiscing about the old days on Eastmoor Ave, that we often had to remember to get back to the business at hand!

Chuck was my first boss, and the best ever. I will never forget the time I was cutting your grass, and if you will recall, it was my job to cut the grass at "the pond" across the street. Well, I ran the lawnmower over a snake, and that was it for me! I left the lawnmower running and scurried right to your front door to resign my post. Chuck was more than amused, and he was so sweet, he went and rescued the still-running lawnmower from where I'd left it across the street, and he amended my job description so that he (and his allergies!) would cut the grass at the pond. I need only concern myself with your safe, snakeless yard.

You and Chuck were always the neighbors I could count on for some kind hospitality and a bit of advice, and even though I was only a child I was always made to feel like a respected adult in your home.

I'm so glad you and he had so many wonderful years together. I'm not sure if you knew this, but I also lost my husband last year. I don't mean to imply that I have any idea what this might be like for you, but it helped me when someone said that there will come a time when you think of him and you find yourself smiling before you cry. This day will come for you, too. All my love.

Marilyn,
Ironically, I found out this morning that Charles passed away, while drawing one of his dear friend and fellow patients blood. I will miss seeing Charles at Wisconsin Heart Group, it truly is like loosing part of my family. Please know that I am here anytime if you need anything. God Bless you, he already has by giving you 55 years with your best friend...

Marilyn,
We feel so blessed to have known Chuck. we knew him always to be a gentle, decent and generous soul - someone who, his own quiet way, stood out as a rarity in our fallen world. Please take comfort in the knowledge that he is in the warm, embrace of the Heavenly Father - a child at home, content, and at peace - forever.
You are in our prayers, good neighbor. God bless you.
