Curt Ayers Obituary
Of Wauwatosa, died unexpectedly on April 22, 2005 at the age of 67 years. Beloved husband of Ann (nee Yockey). Loving father of Julie. Brother of William (Donna) Ayers. Preceded in death by his father, Maynard Armstrong Ayers and his mother, Ann Heidenrich. Also survived by other relatives and friends.
Dr. Ayers was a longtime Associate Professor at Marquette University Dental School, having started there in 1974. Curt was born and raised in Ottawa, Illinois. Even as a child, he had great perseverance and a strong commitment to work. He never gave up through all life's adversities. Even as a child having had Polio, he went on to win at state track meets. He even received a track scholarship to Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
Curt graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago. He owned a dental practice in Ottawa for many years until he went back to school at the University of Minnesota Dental School to get an MPH. Upon graduation, Curt became an associate professor at Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he worked for 30 years. He loved to personally work with the dental students. For those who knew him, they will miss his dry sense of humor that often made him the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation Monday, April 25 at the funeral home from 4 to 7 PM. Services Tuesday, 10:30 AM at the funeral home, committal services in his home town of Ottawa, IL. Memorials to Marquette University Dental School appreciated.

Dr. Curt was my professor in preventative dentistry '75-79. I enjoyed his sense of humor and am sorry to hear of his passing. I have a greater respect for him after reading what he went thru. He was always encouraging us thru the tough times of D. school, now I know why. God Bless Chuck Hajinian,DDS
