Daniel Konkel Obituary

Konkel, Daniel M. Died at Maplewood Center, Milwaukee, WI on October 13, 2018, at the age of 92. Dan was born in Milwaukee on 5/11/1926 to John and Rose Konkel. He was the sixth of ten children. He was honorably discharged from the Merchant Marines in 1945. Thereafter he worked at Allis Chalmers, Siemen Allis, and Sportsman Exchange. He married the love of his life Gloria Mollenhauer on September 17, 1949, and together they had two children. At the time of Gloria's death on May 21, 2005, they had celebrated 55 years of marriage. Dan is survived by his brother Jim and his sisters Mary and Carol. He is also survived by his two children, Mary (Dennis) Shannon and Dan (Gail) Konkel; three grandchildren, Holli (Pete) Delaney, Sarah MacDonald, and Andrew (Morgan) Konkel, and four great grandchildren, Daniel, Kaylee, Colton, and Nicholas. He was affectionately known as Uncle Dan to numerous nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Robert, Rudy, and Jerry, and his sisters Gracie, Gloria, and Audrey. Dan loved his family, cared for his friends, and served his community. He was a good man and will be missed. Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, October 30th, at St. Pius X Church (2506 Wauwatosa Ave, Wauwatosa, WI) at 11:00 AM. Visitation with family prior to Mass at 10:00 AM.
