Lawrence P. Konkel

Mr. Lawrence P. Konkel of rural Nashville, IL, departed this life at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, IL on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 6:21 P.M. He had attained the age of 87 years, 5 months and 9 days.

Mr. Konkel was born on July 27, 1938, in Pilot Knob Township, Washington County, IL the son of Peter J. and Helen J. (nee Pinski) Konkel. He was united in marriage to Josephine Niedbalski on April 27, 1963, in Posen, IL and she survives his passing.

Lawrence was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed farming with his red Case IH tractors. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL and also, a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau. He served as a Pilot Knob Township Road employee for many years. He loved spending his free time woodworking, mowing grass, riding his side by side and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Josephine Konkel of rural Nashville; daughter Judy Bathon and husband Roger of Coulterville; granddaughter, Jessica (Seth) Logsdon; grandson, Todd Bathon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Kurwicki and her husband Mike.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10 A.M. with Fr. Benny George officiating. Interment will follow in the Old St. Ann Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Friday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 8 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to St. Ann Church or St. Ann Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
