David Schlueter Obituary

Schlueter, David W. Of St. Francis. Born into Eternal Life July 22, 2009, at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of Dorothy Schlueter (formerly Wood) (nee Randles). Loving father of Jodene, and David "Butch" (Julie). Dear brother of Karl (Marva). Proud grandpa of Elizabeth and Amanda. Fond uncle of John and Eric. Further survived by other relatives and numerous friends. David was a metal artist creating studio art furniture receiving a Best Use of Recycled Materials Award. He was a 30 year survivor of a kidney transplant. David was a lifelong swimmer and earned Silver and Bronze Medals in the Transplant Olympics. He was a journeyman in drafting, welding and machining starting his career at Ladish Co. Over the years he worked in the Outboard Marine Corporation in the Snowmobile Lab, Wisconsin Industrial Truck, J I Case, Excaliber, Harley-Davidson, Buell and Kempsmith. David was also the proprietor of Best Welding. Funeral Service Sat., July 25, at 11:30 AM, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 3775 E. Cudahy Ave., Cudahy. Rev. Daniel Marshall presiding. Private inurnment Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation Sat., at the Church, from 10 AM until time of Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church appreciated. I never knew David very well, even though he had been a neighbor for many years. David was so kind and helped out my elderly parents at times. He was a wonderful neighbor to them and I will always appreciate his help. God Bless you, Karl and take care. I never knew David did so much. I did know about the kidney and it was a wonderful thing you did. David living for 30 years with a transplant is amazing. My heart goes out to David's family.
