Donald Comte Obituary

Comte, Donald Edward Don passed away Oct. 3, 2012, of natural causes. He was 85. A lifelong Milwaukee resident, he attended UW Madison where he was a member of Alpha Chi Rho. Don proudly served as an Army Medic on the General Black during WWII. He worked in insurance and real estate. He was loving and kind, funny and brilliant. Don enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, opera and classical music and was an avid gardener. A proponent of Scouting, he mentored young people, volunteering for many years. Sadly missed by his wife Nancy (nee Jackson) and children Ellen Anderson (Steve), Paul Comte (Cynthia), Beth Meyer (Charlie), sister Ruth Ziebell (Ned) and brother-in-law Morgan Jackson (Anne). Fondly remembered by 5 grandchildren and cherished nieces and nephews. Don is preceded by his parents Edward and Angela (Olszewski) Comte and sister and brother-in-law Lucille and Eugene Brounk. Don, husband and father, uncle and grandfather, was a remarkable man of many gifts and he lived a good life. Visitation to be held Sunday, October 21, 4-6 PM at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, WI. A private ceremony will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
