Daddy, mom called me to sing happy birthday which is our tradition. Nice but sad too. Not the same without your silly voice.

Pop, almost 1 year. Still not dealing with it. I know you are not physically here but I struggle to actually accept that. It's just like a fleeting thought that I just push out of mind. I guess I'm just trying to hold onto you! That's not a bad thing, right? Sandy had wall plaques made up that state "Dad, you taught me everything I know except how to live without you". Between you and me, no one can really know how true that is for me. I don't need to go into detail, you already know. Anyway, I will only say how much I love and miss you (which of course, you know!).

My much loved father, my rock.

I will forever miss you. You have bestowed upon me the ability to fight through life's struggles and to live an honest, respectable life. You have provided for and maintained your family through your silent, dignified strength, never boasting or bragging. As the oldest of three daughters, you patiently taught me things I would need in the future: auto repair/maintenance, home updates, financial tips, gardening (especially corn), etc. Always willing to help anyone who needed it! The list goes on and on. Above all, I learned the most from your spirit. If anything ever bothered you, I never saw it. You just found a way and made everything work. Your sense of humor will never be forgotten! Silly songs and sayings, antics - too numerous to count. I will always remember, as will Tom. His friends still get a huge kick out of them: "did I get any on ya?", "bring it up again, we'll vote on it", "I love to go swimmin' with bowlegged women". More and more and more.
Since you got sick in January 2019, I've witnessed your suffering. Medical science saved your life but also destroyed your quality of it. However, you still put on that gentle, loving and silly face. You will always be more than one in a million. Remember, "You Did It Your Way". Rest now my Daddy, you have more than earned it.

Always in my heart, Daddy's girl forever, Jeanine
