Sandra A. "Torani" Teetz

Sandra A. (Torani) Teetz, of Johnstown, New York, passed away on January 21, 2026, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 30, 1948, in Amsterdam, New York, Sandra-known lovingly as Sandy, Mommy, Grammy, and Aunt Sandy-was a woman of unwavering strength, kindness, humor, and sharp sarcasm that those closest to her came to cherish. At the heart of who she was, Sandy possessed a truly beautiful, giving, and selfless spirit. She always put others before herself without hesitation and loved deeply and unconditionally. She was profoundly devoted to her family and carried a strong faith throughout her life that guided her each and every day.

Sandy was the true matriarch of her family-the one everyone turned to for guidance, wisdom, comfort, and honesty. She was a steady presence, a safe place, and a source of reassurance, always ready to give of herself, listen without judgment, and offer love in both words and action.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.

She is survived by her children: Tammy Cetnar (Jim), Trisha Ticktin (Rob), and Todd Cetnar (Chrissy). She was a proud and devoted Grammy to her most precious gifts, Cooper and Julia Ticktin, and Finley and Isabella Cetnar, who were the center of her world and brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her brothers, Joe Torani (Lisa) and Tony Torani (Nanci), along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandy was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Teetz, to whom she was married to for 27 loving years, as well as her parents, Vito and Antoinette Torani.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her beautiful heart, generous spirit, and selfless love touched countless lives. It is her strong faith that brings comfort in knowing she is now at peace in heaven, reunited with her loved ones.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church St., Amsterdam.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 Saint John St., Amsterdam, with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam.
