Elizabeth "Betty" MacRae

MacRae, Elizabeth "Betty" (Nee Buchanan) Of Rochester, NY, formerly of Elm Grove and Wauwatosa. Born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Donald Peter MacRae. Loving mother of Sally (Jeffrry) MacRae-Jaffe and Dr. Scott (Abigail) MacRae. Proud grandmother of Andrew and Amelia Jaffe and Morgan MacRae. Cherished sister of Jane and brothers William and Thomas Buchanan. Dear, dear friend of Peggy Dahlman and neighbor Shirley Grade and their families. Also lovingly survived by other relatives and friends. Elizabeth proudly attended 3 years of study at Mary Baldwin Women's College, VA. She was employed as an executive secretary at Robert W. Baird and Co. Later she managed the women's apparel department at MacNeil and Moore, Mayfair. Elizabeth was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Parish, Elm Grove and St. Bernard's Church, Wauwatosa. She was active in Elm Grove's Crime Stoppers, the Elm Grove Women's Club and 20th Century Women's Club of Wauwatosa. She will be remembered for all the little children she invited into her home to feed and lavish them with love. Known as the "The Cookie Lady" she founded and lovingly fed the "crumb crushers club" of Lata Vista Dr. Visitation Friday, October 24, at St. Mary's Visitation Parish (1260 Church St.), Elm Grove from 2 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 3 PM. There will be a reception to follow at Western Racquet Club following the memorial service. Private cemetery services will be held at St Mary's Cemetery in Elm Grove.
