I always told Ernie "you are my best friend and confidant". He was a friend like no other, always willing to listen, visit and help. I will miss his endless supply of apples, pears, cherries and tomatoes, ect.
For the last few years, Ernie was a cherished member of our senior adult ministry at Elmbrook Church. Sadly, with all that is happening in my life at this time, I read the date of his service incorrectly and those of us who had planned to attend his service, were not there, something I'll always regret.
Ernie spent time everyday in Bible reading and prayer and I believe that was the source of his wisdom, and love and care for others.
God used Ernie in my life in many ways when I lost my husband. I don't know what I would have done without him. He truly was a blessing to me. He will be missed throughout this neighborhood this summer by those who knew him.
Tom and Peter are in my thoughts and prayers. It's always difficult to lose a parent, especially one as devoted as Ernie. He was proud of both of his sons.
May they sense an extra measure of God's presence, love and comfort. And we know that all of heaven is rejoicing as they welcome Ernie home.
Love to All,
Lora Yanke

Ernie was a great neighbor to our family here in Wisconsin. I have known him since I was a reenager. He always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed walking. He will be missed in the neighbor hood. Rest in peace Ernie. Mary Barnekow VossekuilMary

Wellspring is deeply grateful for the nearly 25 years we have known Ernie. He was a generous volunteer, our Board treasurer for a term, even volunteered to reconcile our books each month for a number of years. Each summer he made sure, when he came north from Florida, to pay a visit to Wellspring, a non-profit education and retreat center and organic farm. We will miss you, Ernie!

My Dad (Ernie) was such a loving, caring and gracious man and we all are deeply saddened by our sudden loss. He and wife Anna were sponsored by Redeemer Lutheran Church (19th and Wisconsin Ave.) and immigrated from Germany in 1956 and remained active with Redeemer Church. They worked very hard and provided us with a wonderful love filled blessed home providing us with many great memories.
I would like to share our sincere condolences (and thanks) to all the many great friends and neighbors he had in Wisconsin and Florida as you all have lost such a dear friend. He truly loved Alligator Park in Punta Gorda with all the wonderful friends, neighbors and activities there, and often shared those great memories with us up in bitter cold Wisconsin! As he rests in Heaven, may his love, compassion and friendship be with us all forever and may God bless all.

My Father, (Ernie) was such a loving, caring, and spiritual man and we all deeply saddened by our sudden loss. He was sponsored by Redeemer Lutheran Church and immigrated from Germany with wife (Anna our Mom) in 1956. They both worked very hard their whole lives and provided us with love and guidance during our growing years and present lives.
I would like to especially share our condolences (and thanks) to the many good friends and dear neighbors who lost such a gracious man, up here in Wisconsin and in Punta Gorda. He truly loved Alligator Park and his many friends and neighbors he had around Punta Gorda and often shared those precious and wonderful memories he had with us. Now in Heaven, may his love and graciousness that he shared be forever with us all in our hearts and souls.
