The family would like to thank the staff of Hearts to Home Senior Home Care, who made her final years so comfortable. Special thanks to Liezl Holt and Arsie Pasayloon for their loving and compassionate care of Ethel. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery, 2615 W. I have fond memories of Great Aunt Ethel. I am sorry I missed her funeral. She was a great woman with the warm smile.

Early spring 1973 I was interviewed for a job in the psychology department at UWM, there is where I first met Ethel with her eyes wide open and her welcoming smile. Ethel was like a ray of golden sunlight, certainly relative to some of the grumpy faculty then in the department.

I discovered Ethel was the department's manager, making certain that all went well; and its Jewish mother, making certain that we all took care of ourselves.

In the 1970's, there was plenty of "play" and rivalries in the department. About these, Ethel surely knew as she was a great listener and I suspect a confidant of many of the characters. Thankfully Ethel was discrete, perhaps because she had not wanted to lose her job. So I worried when Ethel retired and was no longer on the university payroll for she had many times said, "I could write a book—two books for that matter!" So if on cleaning her home you discover one or two diaries about the department, many of us would appreciate these diaries not yet being published.

After she retired, Ethel attended several holiday parties at the department's new venue. But gradually many of us lost touch with her, but we will never forget Ethel.

May Ethel's family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Karen, Linda and family,
I was so saddened to hear about your mom. I have many fond memories. I saw her every week for so many years. She was a joy to all and she always made me laugh. She had a special place in my heart. Cherish all your memories
. Take care. Love, Sandy Bear
