Alan Jerome Koschnick, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 10, 2026. He was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin on October 6, 1934 to Edmund and Elizabeth Koschnick.
Alan is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia ("CiCi") Koschnick, their children Randy (Terri) Koschnick, Kim (Michael) Hafeman and Eric (Lori) Koschnick, grandchildren Lindsay, Katherine ("Katie"), Amanda, Allison, Valerie, Kirsten, Zach and Luke, as well as ten great-grandchildren. Alan is preceded in death by his brother Ronald and their parents.
Alan was a very loving, dedicated Christian family-man of deep faith who cherished spending time with his family. He served four years in the United States Navy in the 1950's, developed a love for the open sea and continued to sail throughout his life, primarily on Lake Michigan. He returned from the Navy to attend college at UW-Milwaukee where he met CiCi in the Union on his first day of school on February 3, 1958. Alan and CiCi loved dancing the Jitterbug at campus events, their favorite song became Earth Angel. Their relationship grew and they were married in 1959. Randy was born in 1960, Kim in 1961 and Eric in 1966. Alan was also a serious student who completed both a bachelor's degree at UW-Milwaukee and an MBA at Marquette University. After graduation, Alan worked in marketing research at Globe Union and later his career shifted to becoming a real estate agent at Shorewest Realty. Alan's friendly personality and lifelong love of Milwaukee's North Shore community allowed him to enjoy tremendous success helping others buy and sell homes. Alan had a strong commitment to honesty and hard work, traits which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Alan was a proud patriot who raised his flag daily. He celebrated his naval service by participating in an Honor Flight, accompanied by his oldest son Randy, and was welcomed home from the flight by his entire family upon returning to the Milwaukee Airport. Alan considered the Honor Flight to be a highlight of his life. Alan was also a member of the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center where he mentored aspiring sailors. Alan and CiCi enjoyed travelling in early retirement, experiences which enhanced their appreciation for the beauty of the entire world and its people. In 2024, they sold their long-time family home in Whitefish Bay, moving to Shorehaven in Oconomowoc where they settled into loving, quiet times with friends and family.
