Evelyn "Bette" Jakubowski

Jakubowski Evelyn "Bette" (Nee Schloemer) Bette was gathered in God's loving arms on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at age 89 years. Devoted wife of the late Edward "Eddie" Jakubowski for 49 years. Dear mother of Linda (Larry) Sukup, Susan (Jeff) Lepak, Kathy (John) Kloc, Joe and Andrew Jakubowski. Proud grandmother of Jessica (Jamie) Westlund, James Lepak, Bill Kloc, Becky Kloc, and Denise (Jerrod) Carr, and great grandmother of Chloé Carr. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends. A tiny woman with great enthusiasm for life, she decorated each room in her home every holiday and welcomed family and friends with wonderful home cooked meals and delicious cookies and cakes. A cook and caterer; Bette worked for Milwaukee Public Schools, the Wisconsin State Fair, and The Kids From Wisconsin. She also volunteered many hours at St. Matthew's Catholic Church (25th and Scott) and Our Lady of Lourdes preparing food for special events. She enjoyed creating crafts, sharing them with others, and cheering for the Brew Crew and the Pack. Bette was a woman of strong faith who embraced life with passion, joy, and laughter. She was loved by all who knew her. Bette's life will be celebrated with a Visitation at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (S. 58th and W. Forest Home Ave.) on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM followed by Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery (S. 38th and W. Morgan Ave.). In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Ben's Community Meal Program or for Masses celebrated in Bette's name would be appreciated. Mom, we know you're probably busy decorating the Pearly Gates for the next holiday.
