Although Jerry will be missed, he will certainly live on in our hearts because of his music, wonderful voice, and super personality!

Marilyn and I noticed how important his fans were to him and how he enjoyed entertaining them. On April 15th, 2005, I had a chance to talk with him and got to know him better, the eye contact we made was so special to me,(Reg). We hugged one another, and little did I know, that particular night would be the last time Jerry would entertain us all. It was at the "Ultimate Elvis Reunion Concert". I was so honored to perform on the same stage right after Jerry that night.

Our prayers go out to his family and friends.

Sincerely,

Reg and Marilyn Simpson

My condolences to Jerry's loved ones. My daughter informed me of his passing. She has known him since Jerry and I started dating, when he still had blonde hair. I am proud to say I am responsible for the name Jerry Allen since I am the one who chose it for him. I am surprised it was not mentioned that his career started with the song Denise by Randy and the Rainbow's. I must agree, his voice remained as wonderful as when I first introduced him to Milwaukee, dyed his hair black, and shopped with him for his first jumpsuit. I will also miss his singing at the fair. We had both come along way since my brother-in-laws bar(Ceasar's) on Mitchell street.

My heart is so sad to know one of our greatest local preformers has passed on. I will be so lost at the fair in August, as he was the one main event I sat and watched. And, Johnny Sparkle will live forever in my heart. Goodbye, Jerry, my friend, I will miss you forever.

Jerry had talent and class. Was never too famous to acknowledge us groupies. I can still picture him at Show Boat, Kikos and State Fair. A great loss to us all.

My husband and I as well as our little group of "mature teens" will deeply miss our Johnny Sparkle. How lucky we were to have him and his music in our life time in our city of Milwaukee. We are so glad that Jerry chose us in Milwaukee to share his talent with. When he sang Cara Mia a feeling came over me that I can't even describe. God Bless Jerry Allen. Thank you Volkomer family for sharing him with us.

I was shocked and very saddened when I heard the news about Jerry. We go back to Ceasar's Restaurant in Franklin. What a wonderful gift Jerry was to this world. He will be truly missed. Debbie

I am truly devasted by the passing of my friend and colleague, Jerry Allen. I wish I could be there to say goodbye but it's just not possible. It's because of Jerry that I learned how to sequence music, which allowed me to make two CD's and to launch a career as a solo artist, for which I owe him big time. My year with him as his duo partner at the Holiday Inn on Hwy. 100 turned out to be a time of positive change and great opportunity for me and I thank him for it.

Jerry was a humble and generous man of many talents, a singer, a showman, a comedian, a businessman, a promoter, a guy with loads of charisma but very little ego, a soft spoken fellow, always lavish with praise and stingy with criticism, a big guy with a big heart and I'm really gonna miss him.

I'm sad to see you go, Jerry - there are just too few guys like you left.

Goodbye, my friend.

I was shocked when I heard about Jerry's death on the radio Saturday. He was such a great man and always there to make you laugh. I have so many wonderful memories of Jerry, starting back from the days at the Show Boat. I am so sorry for your loss and please know that my thoughts a prayer are with you.

Jerry's singing isn't over, he's just singing in a "higher choir"!
