Gordon Singer Obituary

Singer, Gordon Brian "Gordy" Born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Loving husband and best friend of Joan (nee Thompson) for 57 years. Devoted father of Michael (Michelle) and Kristi (Daniel) Klemencic. Fun-loving grandpa of Nicole, Christopher (Heather), Kaitlin, Craig and great-grandpa of Austin and Brayden. Dear brother-in-law of Beverly Singer and Warren (Lee) Thompson. Preceded in death by his brother Norman and parents Rev. Albert and Dora (nee Groskreutz) Singer. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Gordy graduated from Wisconsin State College Whitewater in Business Education, taught for two years at Milton High School, then moved into the insurance industry, where he worked for General Casualty Insurance and as an independent insurance agent/business owner. Gordy was a loyal fan of Wisconsin sports teams. Badgers, Brewers, Packers--and he had a huge hat collection to prove it. He loved to sing, recite stories, tell goofy jokes, and laugh at himself (and his bad jokes). Golf was his game, but hunting and fishing were his passion. He was firm in his faith, and his love for his family knew no bounds. Visitation on Monday, November 16 from 11AM until time of Funeral Service at 1PM at CHRIST OUR SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH; N59 W22476 Silver Spring Dr., Sussex, WI. Private burial will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gordy's name to the church are greatly appreciated.

For some strange reason my first attempt went through without the message.
Gert and I and all our family are very saddened. Gordy was a wonderful friend and neighbor at the cottage for the 30 years that we have been there. The annual neighbors fish dinner will not be the without him. Our deepest sympathy to Joan and the family. God bless you Gordy. Rest in peace.

My condolences to the Singer family for the loss of Gordy. I used to enjoy Gordy's visits to our insurance agency a few times each year.
Always a very nice and friendly man.
