I was sometimes an adversary of Harvey's, especially on freeway expansion, but he earned my respect with his professionalism and integrity.

To Collette

My deepest sympathy to you and your family during this sad time. Harvey was a remarkable man and mentor. I met Harvey in District 60 many years ago when I was a young engineer. Through the years with the DOT and his association with the Institute of Transportation Engineers, Harvey touched perhaps thousands of lives in a most positive and profound way. He was a great mentor to me personally as I listened and watched intently in all my contacts with him as it was quickly apparent to me that he was a true gem in the Transportation Engineering World and a gentleman in every way.
May God bless you and you family.

Collette and family:
Harvey was a wonderful man. For me and foe so many in WisDOT and the engineering profession he was a friend, mentor, guide, and inspiration. When I think of him I think of honor and honesty and integrity, and all those qualities that make public service an honorable career. Sympathy to Collette and family, and rest in peace good friend. . . .

Dear Collette, Lane, Renee and Denise,
Rick and I are so sad to learn of Harvey's death. Your loss is huge and we send our deepest sympathy. We cherish our 13 years as next door neighbors and your leadership at (then) Trinity-Pilgrim. One of your generosities which meant more than I can tell you is when you cleaned up our fallen leaves in 1993 when Sarah was in the hospital. With love, Marilyn Hair & Rick Steele

To Renee-Sincerest and deepest condolences on the loss of your father-Respectfully, John Recklies Sr.
