My sincere condolences go out the Kraus family at this time of great loss. I had the pleasure of assisting "Santa" for many years after the Christmas Parade at the Port State Bank. Here he carefully listened to the Christmas wishes of thousands of children.
The words of the New York Sun Editor Francis Pharcellus Church to Virginia O’Hanlon may express this best….
“Yes, Virgin, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.”
“Thank God! He lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.”
Special memories of Christmas, Halloween, and yes, even a school trip to see his farm animals will “live forever” thanks to this special man’s work. He has touched the hearts of many...whether they know it or not.

Dear Kraus Family
Our beloved Santa and Keeper of the Pumpkin Patch will forever remain in my heart and the heart of my son. What an inspirational man that gave everything in his heart and soul to his family and to children across the land! "Carry On Santa!" God Bless.

Dear Kraus Family,
I want to thank you for all the years you shared your "Santa" with my family. He would stop on Christmas Eve. He was a wonderful man and will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember once, long after his visits ended, we were at a pumpkin farm and I heard his laugh and instantly knew who he was. Who knew Santa had a farm? My thoughts and prayers are with you.
