My Dad
My dad taught me many things and was a great dad.
What he taught me most was that God is Holy. My dad was a devote Christian and now sees Jesus face to face.
Growing up dad taught us that God is Holy. He told me when I was young that his favorite Hymn was Holy Holy Holy.
Holy, holy, holy
Lord, God Almighty
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee
Holy, holy, holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons blessed Trinity
Holy, holy, holy
Though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see.
Now my dad sees what is often hidden from our eyes. He sees God in his glory and sings the songs with the other believers that have gone before.
My dad taught me to be kind.
My dad was always kind to everyone he met. I saw this in his life every day. My dad believed and lived that there are no strangers just friends he had not met yet. He always said hello to everyone he passed on the street or in the store. He had time for everyone and helped everyone. I can remember many times my dad stop to help someone stuck in a snow bank and pulled them out. My dad did not pass by a car that was broken down. He stopped to see if he could help.
When growing up he helped everyone in the neighborhood fix anything that needed fixing. It was nice to see and when he got older and needed help and moved to New Berlin the neighbors there helped dad and mom when they needed it. For this I thank you all.
My dad taught me to forgive. I saw forgiveness in my dad's attitude to everyone. When a friend did something I knew hurt my dad very much. My dad still showed love and kindness to him. I asked him why, my dad said that is his problem not mine. He is still my friend and I already forgave him. It hurt but it is over. And it was for my dad. That is the way my dad lived.
Dad I know i will see you again in heaven and that is the comfort i have from our good Heavenly Father.
I love you
