Irene Alvina Chartier

97, of Cudahy, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Irene was born November 13, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Alvin and Irma Hemple. She married her beloved husband of 57 years, Harvey Chartier (deceased) and lived most of her life in Cudahy. She is survived by her children Susan (John) Gannon, Lance (Rosemary) Chartier, Mark Chartier, and Glen (Kelly) Chartier; her grandchildren Aron Gannon, Aura Gannon, Alene (Wesley) Fabian, Andre (Jennifer) Chartier, Nicole Chartier, Nicholas Chartier, Marissa Chartier, Isabelle Chartier, Luc Chartier, and Claire Chartier; and six great-grandchildren; and brother-and sister-in-laws Lois (Bill) Hermann, June Chartier, Donna Chartier. Further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Irene was predeceased by her beloved brother, William (Peggy) Hempel, and brother-and sister-in-laws Larry Chartier, Gordon Chartier, Alan Damitz, and Anabel Chartier. Irene was a proud homemaker who enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Beaver Dam. Her hobbies included crafting, square dancing, tending her rose garden, singing in the choir at Holy Family Church, and storytelling, especially concerning her family history.

She was laid to rest next to her husband, Harvey, after a small private viewing. The internment took place on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Forest Hill Memorial Park. A post pandemic memorial service will be announced at a later date.
