I was a graduate of MATC's Mortuary Science program in 1999. Having had no experience in the industry when I enrolled, being able to study under Mr. Augustine and James Pludemann was extremely valuable to me. I have only just now learned of his passing. My condolences to family, friends, colleagues, and former students.

RuthAnn, Our very sincere condolences on your loss. Carol and I were next door neighbors for 20 years or so. My, how time flies by. Many times I would see Jim outdoors working in his 3 acres of heaven. My, but Jim and you maintained a lovely yard. Jim always had time for an impromptu informal over the fence gab session, a very easy guy to converse with. Sincerely, Carol and Don Belman

I knew Jim for 23 years at MATC West Campus. He was always so very cordial. He retired at the same time I did. I remember his comments about finally being able to get at his to-do list. So sorry for your loss.

Mr. Augustine was my Professor 1989-1991. 25 years later, I am proud to still be working as a Licensed Funeral Director and I hold my head high having graduated the MATC Mortuary Science program under the direction of Mr. Augustine ("Auggie" to us students)
He touched many lives and will long be remembered.

Mr. Augustine was one of the best teachers I had the pleasure of experiencing at MATC. The funeral service program at MATC lost a great teacher when he retired, and so many students will and have missed out on his vast knowledge. He will be missed. My sincerest sympathies to his loved ones and friends.
