James Davenport Obituary

James B. Davenport

My best friend and beloved husband, Jim Davenport, passed away in the early hours of December 9, 2019 at home with our family.

Jim was the proud father of Mike and Dave. Also a son, brother, uncle and friend to many and loved so much by extended family whom he cherished.

Thank you to our families and friends for their support. A special thank you to Dr. Deepak Sharma, Pete Leonowicz, and the staff at Fresenius Dialysis for their friendship and loving care.

Jim was humbled to be a bone marrow donor to Garry from Wynyard, Saskatchewan. He and Garry continued a 30 year friendship and spent time together golfing in Canada with his friends and Canadian family. We ask that you consider being part of the bone marrow registry. It's a life changing experience.

Though Jim will be missed dearly, his spirit will live on as we remember the laughter and kindness he shared with us, and that we continue to give to one another. When the earth warms, we will plant a tree and place a bench in the park at the end of Badger Court in Greendale in Jim's memory. We'll let you know when the planting will occur with a gathering afterward to share love, laughter, and stories in honor of this man who brought so much joy to our lives. ~ Cathy Davenport (nee Bigley)

Kathy,
I'm sorry I missed this sad message.
In the 40 years that I knew Jim, I never once seen him troubled . He enjoyed ever day of life and a big part of it was because of you. Or maybe you were all of it. He was so happy to be your husband .
He once told me, in a marriage one has to lead and one has to follow and he was happy following you.
And we all know how much he loved being a father.
I could always count on Jim to get me laughing in our annual Christmas calls. He was a good hearted man.

So sorry to hear about Jim. So many good memories of spending time with him and your family. Jim had such a good sense of humor and was unselfish and kind. My condolences to you and the boys. He made a difference and he will be remembered.

Jim was always such a friendly guy and I think everyone liked him. He was probably my closest friend for a couple years in grade school and I remember we enjoyed playing with Joey then too.
His kind will always be deeply missed.

My sincerest condolences, Jack Schmitt

Dearest Cathy, Michael and David.
As well as Sally, Mary and Joe.
What a privilege to have been able to call Jim a friend. I met him when I was 4 so that gave me 61 wonderful years to have know him. He fought until the very end! I had a chance to talk to him 3 weeks ago and his spirits were NO surprise to me. His positive attitude and warm heart will forever be close to my heart. I can only say I am relieved that his rough journey is over. You were like a brother to me. How blessed was I. I love you, Jim...forever. Susie Schmitt

Dear Cathy, I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I have been thinking of you both so much this last month and could not locate you. I am glad Martha will have a friend. They could turn heaven upside down!
My prayers are with you and for Jim. I miss seeing you even though it has been awhile.
Fondly, Peggy and Ray
