Brother Jim was my freshman science teacher at Milwaukee's Thomas More High School. While doing an experiment involving a laser and the sound produced by a record player, a student asked "Brother, what band is this?" To our surprise, Brother Jim replied "It's Led Zeppelin, where have you been man?" I still remember that more than four decades later. Thanks for your guidance Brother Jim.

Though I had only known Jim for a short time, relative to his long and beautiful life, his warm smile and kind spirit made a tremendous impact on myself and his peers. His unwavering dedication towards the environment and the community will be forever cherished and looked to as an example, as a steward. I feel so very blessed to have known and worked with Jim. Rest easy.

Jim Facette was our dear friend and our true Brother in Peru. He both learned from the people and taught us the basic Christian virtues through his love of nature and his simple living. He was our neighbor in Santa Rosa Parish. May he and our Brother Phil Melcher rest in God's peace and loving embrace.

I will miss working along side Jim, planting trees and performing weekly tasks for the Five Rivers MetroParks Tree Corps. It feels very sad not to have been able to say good-bye to Jim due to to the abrupt coronavirus pause to volunteering with the MetroParks. Good-bye Jim! "Til we meet again"
