Dear Peg & Family:
There is no way when a thought of Jim comes to mind that a smile does not appear on my face. We all had some terrific times in the past and the nice memories do not just fade away in time. And so long as we live so does all the good memories Jim is and was a part of making said memories. Prayers to Jim and to his lovely wife Peg. Jeff Moriarty

In these several years since Jims passing, I have often thought of the good times and great laughs together. Sharing some of those rich stories of trying to grow our respective moving companies and the characters and customers that were a part of it all brought us very close as friends, and respected as competitors. Unusual, yes, but fun and full of funny stories! Jim and Peggy, you live on in the vivid memories of Jean & Bob Eidsvold

Peggy,
Jim and me had been emailing back and forth up until the day of his death. I was devastated to hear of Jim's passing. The World is an emptier place without Jim but Heaven gained one of the best joke tellers! I loved Jim like a brother and will miss him just as so many others. Jim has left me with so many wonderful fun memories.
Marcia and me send our sincerest sympathy to you and your family. May God's Blessings be upon Jim and your family.

As an employee of Appleton Moving & Storage, I was swept along in a dynamic transformation ... A small moving company became a large extended "Schroeder Family". Jim was a leader, a shrewd and driven business man but he went out of his way for the community and the "Schroeder Family". Personally, Jim & company, helped me through a very trying time, in ways that just doesn't happen in "business". Compassion understanding and a hand up. From my point of view, his integrity touched so many families through his employees throughout the years.....My condolences to Peggy & Family. God bless you Jim

To all,
I was saddened to read about Jim's passing. However, I smile soon came on my face as I reminisced all the fine memories of Jim's visits after a hard day or to pick up some fish lunches. His neat smile and great demeanor left a lasting impression on me. Wish I could say more to relieve some of the grief you are all experiencing. God bless Jim, his family and friends. Paul Schreiter

Peggy,
This came as a real shock to Jerry and I. We were neighbors for 18 years and have some great memories. Jims laugh, his hard work in the yard. We were blessed to have you next door.
Peggy, if you ever need anything, were always here for you.

To the entire Schroeder Family---- I got to spend my last 2 years or so working for Schroeder Moving Systems in New Berlin.. Even with Jim in retirement, his visits and our conversations were great fun, as i am only three years younger, we had a lot of same memories from the early days in moving.. He was loved by his employees, which is rare these days.. God bless you Jim, and Sarah and Huntz and Mrs. Schroeder, my heart goes out to you..

Dear Peg and Family,
Jeen and I are terribly saddened at the news of Jim's untimely passinng. Jim and I first became associated as two kids trying to build good moving companies within the United Van Lines family back about 1968. Conventions in far away resort areas or industry gatherings in St Louis or our home area of Wisconsin gave us all kinds of time to become fast friends, share a lot of stories, some sad, but mostly hilarious, and we each built our business into separate enteerprises we could and did take immense pride in as we each served the public in their need for moving and storage services.
Jim's conduct of his businness affairs was always honorable, ethical, and with ultimate concern for the customer and the company's employees. His love for the business and his family will always be marked in the memory of those among us who knew Jim.

There was always fun in the room when Jim Schroeder was around. He is one of those guys you always wanted to be around and will never forget. His jokes were gut busting tales. He was also a great representative of Schroeder Moving and United Van Lines. Well done Jim. You will be missed. Maggie and I send our condolences to the entire family.

Dear Peg, Sara and Huntz:
I was saddened to learn of Jim's untimely passing. He was a fine person with a loving and giving nature. A husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many in a caring and very devoted manner that was uniquely Jim. Unquestionably he will be dearly missed, however, he lives on in all his family and friends because of all the positive good memories we garnered through the years with our involvement with Jim. There are no words to put down which will help all of you as you rightfully mourne Jim's passing but please be aware of our thoughts and prayers for Jim and all his family during this trying and sad period of life. Keep Jim close and remember his good nature with a smile and a prayer in the days to come. I cannot be there for the celebration of Jim's life Mass on Friday, but you will all be in my thought and prayers as will be Jim.
