Jean Smirl Obituary

Smirl, Jean M. Of Waukesha, died on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at the age of 79 years. Jean was born in Waukesha, on February 12, 1931, the daughter of Herbert and Bertha Eales. She was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Waukesha. Jean volunteered for the Waukesha Service Club for many years. She was an avid tennis player and traveled the world. Jean loved Door County, WI, where she made a second home. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Jean will be dearly missed by her children, Ned Smirl, Todd Smirl, Holly Jean (John) Wirth, Terry (TuAnh) Smirl and Jeffrey (Antonio Orta-Taylor) Smirl; grandchildren, Sarah Beth, Christopher Ned, Perry John and Bennett John; and a sister, Beverly White. Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Warren G. Smirl, her parents and several siblings. The visitation for Jean will be held on Wed., Feb. 17, from 4 PM until 6 PM, at the funeral home (SEE ADDRESS BELOW). A second visitation will be on Thurs., Feb. 18, from 11 AM until the time of the 11:30 AM Service St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha, WI 53187. The Rev. David Simmons will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The American Diabetes Association - Wisconsin, 2323 N. Mayfair Rd. Suite 502, Wauwatosa, WI 53226, appreciated.
