Pete and Jason: I was extremely
saddened to read about Jean in the
paper. I only found out about her illness this last Christmas when she sent a card to us with a picture of her adorable granddaughters. She was so proud of
them. I think back to our days to-
gether working at UWM and then to
our getting together so Jason and my
son,Chris, could play together. It
is so unbelievable that she is gone.
Please accept our deepest sympathy.
She will be greatly missed.

I had great memories growing up on 69th street just behind the Fettig's house. Jeanne was very wonderful to me growing up with her son Jason. I remember getting treats sometimes when Jason and I played together as kids.
She was a wonderful woman and a great mom. I will miss her.

I have such wonderful memories of Jeanne. We have known each other since grade school. We took communion at St. Kilians every morning and there were many times when I didn't have breakfast (we had to fast in those days...) so Jeanne would share her sandwich with me.
Several years ago, Jeanne and I took the train to visit our longtime friend, Anne, in Syracuse, NY. It was great fun staying overnight on the train and anticipating our visit to NY. Our visit with Anne was more fun than we had imagined and was the topic of conversation (& laughter) for months to come.
Jeanne & I also took the train to Chicago several times. We loved the big city experience & the unique shops & restaurants. Jeanne insisted that we have lunch at the top of the Hancock Building---I was petrified, but went anyway and had a great time. We had so many experiences of fun --shopping, going out to lunch or just chatting on the phone.
I will miss everything about her---her easy going style, her kindness, her cute sense of humor, her ability to shop for hours...--she was quite a lady.
My Deepest Sympathy to Pete, Jason & Lisa, Emma & Ellie whom she loved so very much.

I went to school with Jeanne, kindergarten through high school. She was always smiling. I don't remember her any other way. I remember her sense of style and that she was always the first to wear a new fashion trend. I'll never forget that she was the first girl in high school to sport a pair of Nancy Sinatra white "go-go" boots! She looked a lot better in them than Nancy did!
Jeanne is in my kitchen with me every day. I have the cookbook "The Best Cook on the Block Cookbook, Vol. II" and she is featured on page 123 with her "Swiss Chicken Breast" recipe along with her picture, in which she is again, smiling!
I'm deeply saddened by her death and will continue to keep her in my prayers that she might intercede to God on our behalf.

Dear Peter, Jason and family, I was stunned to hear that Jeanne had died. She was always so full of energy (needed to chase down Jason in the alley on 69th Street) I have sent info forward to Stormy, Kelly, Rion and Jami. Please accept my sympathy.
