Sincere condolences to the entire family and friends. The Zignego's were on Upham Ave and we visited Ridge Road often. One of my fondest memories of the Mayers is we got our Irish Setter puppy, "Brandy" from the Mayers. How kind Jeff was to all of us girls ALL the time...just a gentleman. Thank you for wonderful childhood memories and being such wonderful neighbors!!!

It is a sad day to loose a fishing buddy.
I hope he is in a Nice Boat in a great place! "Stick a PIG" as Rookie would always say.
God speed

I am so sorry for everyone who knew Jeff or Rookie as I will always think of him. What a loss for us all. I also remember his epic ping pong matches with Jon Grider. I was listening to Loggins and Messina this weekend in Rookie's honor. He was really into Jazz as well. The last time I saw him he was at his parents house on Ridge Road getting ready to go fishing. I also think about seeing him at Ann's Pizza. I know all of us who knew Rookie are shocked and saddened but we are all lucky to have known him and we all must always remember to let everyone we know and love how much they mean to us while they are still here.....but I know Rookie's spirit is all around us now.

Jeff was my best bud back in the day. I was his best man, as he was mine. I will never forget his (give you the shirt off his back) kindness, his quick wit and wry humor, his talent and athleticism (wrestler, skateboarder, water skier), his competitive spirit (our epic table tennis and tennis matches), his love of great music, his vast knowledge and passion, and of course his storied love affair with fishing. These things, plus so much more, will leave a void in all who knew Jeff. We will miss you, old friend.

Jeff was a great storyteller with a wonderful laugh. So glad Jeff, Melissa, Erik and I visited him at the end of July. Had a wonderful day together and learned Jeff was at peace and very spiritual.
