Jody Jean Gruska, 64 of South Milwaukee (formerly of Appleton and Kaukauna), passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Aurora St. Luke's South Shore in Cudahy. Jody was born on November 8, 1956 in Milwaukee. After graduating from Appleton West High School in 1975, she worked for 27 years at Mondi Akrosil packaging.
Jody was a spitfire, gifted with a fierce sense of humor, and made friends wherever she went. Many furry friends also had a special place in her heart over the years, especially her dog Molly. Jody enjoyed music, word searches, crafting and spending time with her sister and brother-in-law. She loved going to the Wisconsin State Fair every year.
Jody is survived by her sister Michelle Mezaros (husband Mark Olson), and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents JoAnn (nee Gruska) and Michael (Mihaly) Mezaros, grandparents Gertrude and Everett Lyons, Aunt Judy Lyons and Uncle Roger Gruska.
Services for Jody will be private. Inurnment will take place at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the Wisconsin Humane Society (Milwaukee Campus), 4500 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53208 or through the website wihumane.org
Jody's family extends special thanks to Kathy and Cheryl from Community Care (Milwaukee) for providing support, services and an ear in times of need. The family is also grateful for care from the staff at Willowcrest Care Center. Wichmann Funeral Home assisted the family.

Oh Jody I just saw this morning that you have went with the Lord and this hurts. I was wondering why I wasn't hearing from you any more. I miss you bringing me to Woodman's and when you left from Lake Forest Apartments it hurt real bad. I had been asking about you and nobody knew. Rest in peace honey I miss you my friend.
