Tim, Megan and Patrick, you lived on 46th St when we first moved here on 45th. You were our backyard neighbors and life went on from there. I am not sure about all the connections but I know there were many at St. Sebastian's school etc. Once you become a part of my life, you never leave it. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you including Sharon. Sharon, I believe that I met you at St. Dominic when we came out for a speaker. My heart goes out to you. This new season will be a real challenge for you. I am in my fourth year and I continue to grow with the help of family and friends.

My deepest sympathy to the Aukofer family. I am positive that John and his siblings visited Pewaukee Lake during summers a long time ago. I lived a few doors down and was Clarie's age. Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the family for the wonderful memories of youth: warm summers, wishing on stars, music, dancing, and summer friendships. I am sorry for your loss and hope that the memories help bring peace.

Dear Sharon, our hearts grieve with you over the loss of our good friend and your beloved husband John. He showed courage as he struggled with his illness for so many years. No more suffering. His warm and kind nature will always be remembered. May Our Lord, along with the Blessed Mother and Saint Padre Pio watch over him as he enters God's Kingdom. We are praying for you and hope that knowing this will in some way help you and your family through this very sad time. Love you Sharon,
Your friends from the Padre Pio Prayer Group of Milwaukee

My ole buddy, John. What good memories. We always found time to talk together at Johnson Controls retirement meetings: about the tennis matches at Wick Field and apres tennis at The Fieldhouse, the "6-8 more" (beers), and the time (after closing) when a bunch of us went to John's house to swim in his backyard pool - and dove from his diving board (no one was killed, or even injured) and we all made it to work the next morning. Other escapades were more on the level.
Lots of good stories. John - everyone's friend. Will 'look you up' in Heaven buddy. - Lou

Very surprised to hear of John's death, we go back to sixth grade when I first met John. Many happy memories interacting with John's siblings and parents.
Our YPC days were always filled with happy times.
My condolences to the Aukofer clan.

So, John, have you heard the one about the British flyer who crash-landed near Mercy, Austrailia? Oh, wait--you told ME that one! Love you, brother John. Sleep well. Baby Sis

Uncle John, You taught me to Polka and that it is always better to be on the dance floor than watching it. That the delivery of a joke is more important than the quality of it. You taught me to always laugh when told a joke even if you've heard it a hundred times. You taught me that my gift wrapping obsession was valid and how to line up stripes on diagonal folds. You taught me that electricity can make large groups of children laugh and have wonder in it, even when their hands are tingling. You taught all of us to have open hearts and smiles and to never pass up a pun. You will be missed and remembered every time a joke gets groaned at! Hope they got a good Polka band there! Love you!
