Carol Schmidt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Inc. - Brookfield on Mar. 16, 2026.
Carol Mae Schmidt, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 24, 1944, she was the cherished daughter of Mary and Peter Schmidt and grew into a woman whose life was defined by kindness, quiet strength, faith, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Carol was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, daughter, and sister whose greatest joy came from her family. She is lovingly survived by her three daughters, Michele (Karl) Thiessenhusen, Debbie (Ed) Miller, and Gayle (John) Biggins. Carol was proud and deeply involved with her eight grandchildren Michael (Monica), Bryan (Catherine), Abby (fiancé Marty), Kevin, Emily, Haley, Lauren, and Brooke; and her three great-grandchildren Bryson, Matthew, and Zachary; each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Carol especially adored Grizzly, Zoey and Holly, her beloved "grand-dog's," who brought her endless smiles and comfort.

As a daughter, Carol honored the legacy of her parents, Mary and Peter, by carrying forward their values of faith, generosity, and care for others. She is survived by her loving sister Harriet Lisiecki, and sister in law Gladys Schmidt, and was predeceased by her adored siblings Don Schmidt, Grace Kennedy, Marilyn Tomaszewski; all of whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and family traditions.

Those who knew Carol will remember her gentle spirit, her thoughtful listening ear, and the way she always made others feel seen and loved. Carol's quick wit and infectious laugh were contagious. Whether spending time with her grandchildren, keeping in close touch with her daughters, or staying connected with her family, Carol created a warm, welcoming circle around her. Her life was a quiet example of love in action, steady, loyal, and unconditional.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the staff at Saint Camillus and Saint Camillus Hospice for all of the loving care you provided.

Gathering will be held at St. Dominic's Catholic Parish, 18255 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, on Friday, March 27, 2026, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Mass at 12:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and loved ones to honor Carol's memory through contributions to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission Home – Milwaukee Rescue Mission https://milmission.org/ or simply by spending time with the people they love, sharing a story, a meal, or a simple act of kindness, just as she so often did.
