How sorry to lose his talent and wit. He was always complimentary to me and was responsible for getting me into the Melody Top. Cast me in many musicals at the Bay Players. He will be missed by many. But now he has a greater audience with our Heavenly Father and we'll sing together once again some day.

I only had the honor of knowing John for a short time. What a guy!!! I met him at a local auction. He would be buying things for his "Broadway Baby" stage plays. He was such a quick wit and gentleman. Always a kiss on the cheek and you knew he was sincere...a true FRIEND. I will miss just knowing he is no longer with us...but revel in the fact he is performing with the angels! Thanks for touching my life John. I am glad we met!

It's almost inconceivable that we'll never hear another joke, backstage story, or "That Old Black Magic" from John. While it's sad that actors and audience members have lost the best friend they'll ever have in Milwaukee, it's comforting to know that John found an even nicer place than Aruba for his popcorn stand.
We'll never forget you Boss.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to John's family and friends.
We not only lost a friend, but a BEST friend. Our time together goes back too many years to include all the special times we had together and all the generous things John has done for us and others to mention here.
We LOVE you John and always will.

Sad to hear the news... I guess GOD
needed John to sing "Aimee" in Heaven!
or needed a "challenge" for pool.
He will be missed by many... ~ Ken

Memories... sweet memories. I've been so lucky to be in shows at Broadway Baby... which meant my life was blessed with knowing John. We shared many laughs and hugs... and I'll continue to share them with him in my prayers. My sympathies to his family, my beloved Elaine and so many of my dear friends who loved John as I did. He will forever be in our hearts.

My condolences to John's family and thanks to Elaine for being there. John made me feel so comfortable on the first audition I ever did and it was for "Fiddler" in 1983. He made everyone's theater experience fun and added so much thought and caring into each production. I will always remember the great shows and great times with our "theater family". He will now play the "Big Theater!!!". Standing ovations for you John!!

John, in our home, there are framed photos of the singing days at Broadway Baby. In one of them, you, Tairre and I are warbling away. I pass that picture every morning, and I think of you and those days. You'll be remembered and missed. We want to offer our condolences to your family for their loss. All of us feel the loss as well.

My thoughts are with Elaine and his family. John was a wonderful gent. My favorite memory of him is during a recent show at Broadway Baby. Lightning had knocked out our power and John and I were frantic to put things right. Throughout the process his sense of humor kept me going. I'm sorry my daughter didn't get a chance to meet him. His smile shines on...

John was such a sweet man. I will never forget my first time going to Broadway Baby's. I was on my second date with his friend Fast and our car broke down on the way. John had no problem helping out a friend. He let Fast, without hesitation, use his car so that he could get me home safely. I will miss his smile. He will be missed dearly. My sympathy to the family.

Uncle Johnnie was a charming, fun person. He treated us girls like queens. It was always fun visiting him as a young teen. He gave us a lot of rope. I loved watching him act. I was very proud of him.

Oh so many memories of John. He was there, larger and louder than everyone, that first night I walked into the Whitefish Bay High School Auditorium for auditions for Oklahoma in 1981. The years brought us in and out of contact but there was always a warm hug and a whispered, I love you Karen Wink each time. Thank you John for all the great memories. It wouldn't have been the same without you.
