James F. "Jim" Neuses, age 92, of Asbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Grand Meadows. To celebrate Jim's life, family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. There will also be visitation on Friday, February, 20, 2026, at the Church of the Resurrection, 4300 Asbury Road, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the church, with Rev. Phillip G. Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Dubuque Post 6.

Jim was born on May 25, 1933, in Sherrill, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Frieda (Klein) Neuses.

Jim graduated from Loras Academy and Loras College, Class of 1959, with his degree in accounting. He honorably served his country in France with the U.S. Army, Company B 386th Engineering Battalion. Jim married the love of his life, Rosemary C. "Rosie" Maiers, at St. Patrick's Church on September 2, 1957. They raised their family and happily celebrated 68 wedding anniversaries together. Jim was a dedicated employee. He put his accounting degree to good use with a number of hospitals throughout the years, retiring in 2002, from the Illinois EPA. When Jim wasn't working you could often find he and Rosie traveling the world, playing cards with family and friends or hitting the dance floor. He also enjoyed working in his garden and cooking. He enjoyed watching baseball and always rooted for his beloved Chicago Cubs. Jim's faith was an important part of his daily life and he was a devoted member of the Church of the Resurrection. Family was always his top priority. He truly loved spending time together at family gatherings.
