John M. Grogan Sr.

Grogan, John M., Sr. Passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2013, at the age of 84. Loving husband for 56 years of Joan Grogan (nee Harmeyer). Dear father of Gretchen (Peter) Donahue, Ellen (Matthew) Carberry, Mark (Steffanie) Grogan, John (Denise) Grogan, Jr., Amy (Charles) Smith, Molly (Sean) Lynch and Maura (Shannon) Neuens. Proud grandfather of 16. Further survived by his siblings and their spouses David (Eleanor) Christensen, Geraldine (Patrick) Grogan, and Margaret (Jerry) Kliebhan; and cousin Lawrence Grogan, Jr. He significantly contributed to the development of the U.S. and State of Wisconsin pension systems from their foundation in the early 1960's. Upon this base, he served numerous companies and religious organizations by developing and managing their employee benefit and pension plans (on behalf of their employees). Moreover, he was a man who loved and took care of so many and who everyone respected and loved in return. Only goodwill surrounded him, which emanated from him. He is remembered for his cheerful and loving spirit to all, (at the home, at the office, on the golf course, at the pub, or at the basketball and baseball games). Family will greet friends on Thursday, July 18 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Silver Spring Drive. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials in John's name may be made to Marquette High School or University.
