How ironic on this father's day to read about the passing of Verne. My father Joseph was a huge polka fan born in Slovenia. He passec away 13 years ago but I remember him going to Cleveland and telling me about seeing Verne performing and telling me how much he enjoyed his music, and what a great talent he was. Just wanted Vernes family to know how much joy he brought into my dads life. May you have peace in knowing that Verne made people feel happy.

I was saddened to hear the news of Verne's passing. I send along my sympathy and prayers for the family. I just last week received in the mail "The Happy Sounds of Verne Meisner". What an impressive collection of music. It's great that it was re-released.
Verne sent me some CDs, gratis, a couple years ago while I was deployed in Africa. He and Steve provide me enjoyment and some relaxation with their music. I will treasure the note that Verne sent me which I still have back home.

To the Meisner family:
We just want to let all of you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Verne was an accomplished musician who brought so much to the preservation of our polka heritage. He had an unique style that was all his own. Everyone loves a Meisner waltz. His warm smile and love for the music will never be forgotten. He was very special to us and we were so happy to have had the privilige of knowing him. We promise to continue to celebrate his life by keeping his music on the 620am airwaves.

Verne will be missed and will always be in our thoughts as we play his music on each engagement. Many people here in the Grand Rapids Michigan area send there condolences and wish the family our best. We were very proud to meet Verne here in the Muskegeon Mi. area and it was an awesome performance by Verne and his band. Verne's music as we play it gives us much satisfaction and the praise we receive from the people attending our dances is simply never ending. We will dedicate this Fathers Day Dance at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Conkin Mi. to Verne and his and many of his tunes will be played in memory of him. Verne Meisner will be missed and leaves a large hole in the Polka Music field. However we know he is up there smiling down on us for remembering him and keeping his music alive. He was a giant in his field.
May all our prayers and thoughts from all the musicians in the Grand Rapids Mi. area stay and comfort your family as we go on. May God Bless...

There are two things we can be especially grateful for. One is all of the music Verne composed. He left us with some of the most memorable melodies and classic toe-tappers ever to pass through the reeds of an accordion. The other is that he instilled a passion for polka music in so many other musicians, especially in his son, Steve, whose capable hands will keep his father's music alive and well. May the prayers and heartfelt sympathies of fans and fellow musicians around the world comfort you at this time.

To the entire Meisner family: Our deepest sympathy goes out to you on the loss of not only a "Genius" musician, but a great friend! From El Rio Drive, Doreen Waltz, Augies Polka, Echo Valley Waltz, Uncle Ottos Polka, Michelle Waltz, the list keeps going...and going...he will remain with us forever. Think back and remember all the memories that have been made. Verne will be deeply missed!!

The accordion keys of Verne Meisner have been silenced, but the unmistakeable sound of him playing at uncountable number events, will forever echo in the ears and memories of his loyal fans. Saturday June 11th it was a day of playing Verne's Albums, 45's and Cd's at our house. Gentle tears flowing from my eyes every now and then. He will be dearly missed. I know he is in POLKA HEAVEN, playing polkas right next to Carl Hartmann, Paul Buhdan, an the band members who preceded him. Verne was the best, right up there with Kenny Bass, Johnny Pecon, Frankie Yankovic, Roger Bright etc.
My condolences go out to you, Steve, Barb, Michelle, Dan, Judy, and the children. Steve, it is now time for you to take over the Meisner Magic reigns, and carry on as Jeff pecon did for Johnny Pecon. Maybe it is time to write a new song, Steve, "The Verne Meisner Polka" or "The Verne Meisner Waltz.
