Of Mequon. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband of Helen. Loving father of Susan (Marshall) Moore, Wendy (Jeff) McGrath, Rob (Colleen) Cowen and Pam (Phil) Plautz. Proud grandfather of Autumn, Brad, Meagan, Michaela, Zachary, Max, Emyle, Katie, Molly, Abby, Alex and Sydney. Brother of Geraldine (Paul) Fehlhaber, Joanne (Arthur) Habermann and Janyce (Dan) Hundt. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may greet the family from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, February 22 at ST. BONIFACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 3906 West Mequon Road in Mequon with complete Funeral Services at 7 PM. Entombment will be private. Memorials to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin would be deeply appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Leslie was working at Ampco Metals when he graduated from Milwaukee Institute of Technology in 1965. He was with Stainless Foundry and then co-founded Badger Alloys in 1966 before taking over as sole owner in 1986. His passion was his business, but his family, friends and employees were his life blood.

Cowen Family:

I had the pleasure to work with Les and Rob on some matters at Badger. He had a keen business sense and was fair in his dealings with others.

My favorite memory was away from the office. Les and Badger hosted a social at the Circus Parade years ago, and my family, including young children, were invited. I'll never forget Les walking around in 90 degree heat, passing ice cream treats to his guests and showing off his grandchildren. He was so proud of his family.

God blessed you with Les. My guess is Les is negotiating the speed limit with the Lord as we speak--with the top down on a red convertible. I'll bet he gets the limit raised!
