Lindsay Vogel Obituary

Vogel, Lindsay Emerson Lindsay Emerson Vogel (1957-2018) passed away at his home in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Thursday, April 9th. Lindsay was the fourth son of Theodore and Marilyn Vogel of Chenequa, Wisconsin. Growing up on Pine Lake, Lindsay discovered his lifelong love of boating, fishing and time spent in nature. He was well known around Pine Lake for his bonhomie and mischievous behavior. Vogel graduated from the University Lake School in 1975. After high school, Lindsay lived in the Rocky Mountain area where he adopted a beloved German shepherd and pursued his passion for alpine skiing. Vogel later matriculated in James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, graduating in 1984. Throughout his professional life, Vogel worked as a sales associate for companies in the mid-west and Canada. Vogel remained an avid skier throughout his life, racing professionally, coaching his two kids, and proudly served on advisory boards for the regional Great Lakes Ski Academy and the U.S. Snowboard and Ski Association (USSA). He was well known in the Harley Davidson biker community and as a vocal supporter of U.S. military veterans. Vogel is survived by his brothers, Charles Vogel and Theodore Vogel, by the mother of his children, Jennifer Knauer Vogel, and by his two children, Jamie Alyssa Vogel of Menomonee Falls, WI, and Petty Officer Colin Stewart Vogel, currently on active duty on the U.S.S. Harry Truman. In lieu of flowers, the Vogel family asks that friends send a donation to the VFW National Home for Children (Attn: Sue Alverson, 3573 S. Waverly Rd., Eaton Rapids, MI, 48827). A memorial will be held at Pine Lake at a later date.

Mary Ann Newman

September 10, 2020

My name is Mary Ann (Porubsky) Newman. Just today ( 9-10-20), I decided to search for Lindsay. We were summertime childhood pals on Pine Lake. So sorry to see he has passed. Looks like he enjoyed life. My uncle was Cal Pruscha who had a place on Pine Lake. His oldest son, Dr. Cal Pruscha then built a new home there. He now lives in SC. Anyway, guess as we age we think of the crazy things we did as kids and that made me think of Lindsay. Will never forget when he stole my underwear out of the boathouse. I was only 6, couldn't quite understand why he did it. My brothers said because he liked me. Ahhh, the joy of childhood. God bless.
