Maggy Schultz Obituary

Schultz, Maggy Zito Passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Maggy was born on March 29, 1966 in Milwaukee. Raised in Whitefish Bay, Maggy graduated from Whitefish Bay High School and attended the University of Minnesota where she met her wonderful husband of 28 years, Paul Schultz. Maggy was the loving mother of her adoring children, Gretta and Joseph. She was the devoted daughter of William and Priscilla Zito, treasured sister to William Jr. (Julie), Liza, Chris, and Ali. She was the wonderful aunt to Benjamin, Nicholas and Grace Bratrud; Jack and Mary Schultz; and Frankie, Gigi and Billy Zito. Maggy is further survived by her mother-in-law Barbara Schultz (Ron Verdoorn), sister-in-law Susan Bratrud, and brother-in-law Mark (Lori). Maggy was preceded in death by her father-in-law Leo Schultz, brother-in-law Mark Bratrud, and her grandparents Ann and William Zito and Margaret and Frank McCormack. Maggy celebrated life with a vivacious spirit and a huge heart that touched the lives of all who knew her. Maggy loved to throw parties, was a wonderful cook, list maker extraordinaire, loved the beach, was a master gardener and was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and many friends. Maggy loved her life; she truly considered herself the luckiest person she knew. She gave of herself generously throughout her life, working for her community and many charitable organizations, most especially the We Care Fund for Medical Innovation and Research for The Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery. Visitation will be at Feerick Funeral Home, 2025 E. Capitol Dr. in Shorewood, TODAY, Sunday, January 13th from 2:00 to 5:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Monday, January 14th at St Monica's Catholic Church, 5681 N. Santa Monica Blvd. in Whitefish Bay. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the We Care Fund, through The Medical College of Wisconsin, 8701 Watertown Plank Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53226, or at mcwsupport.mcw.edu/makeagift# We are forever grateful to the ENTIRE team at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin. The care, kindness, and unparalleled commitment to Maggy was a true testament to their calling as healers. We owe a special debt to Dr. Douglas Evans; Maggy's guardian angel on earth.

I'm sitting here watching the Columbus Blue Jackets & had an overwhelming urge to look you up Maggy. My heart sank when I found this. You are flying high with the angels. You are truly an angel. For the brief moment I had the honor & privlidge of caring for you, you touched me deeply. I have thought of you often over this past year. Maggy's family, my deepest condolences to you all. My parents and I have had the greatest admiration for Maggie's parents and family and prayers for her success with her cancer therapy from the moment of diagnosis. It was was only in recent years that I meet her- radiant joy and beauty and sparks of unlimited love from the presence of her parents. The dearest image i have of arrival in heaven is then saints and angels lining the arrival road and cheering her arrival with the loudest of joy. Her parents, her siblings, children and husband, I pray ,can take a lessening of their sorrows and loneliness of her death that Maggie is always there, on their sides and making sure they all join her at their times.

Dearest Schultzies...(and all the whole Zito family...esp the ones I was fortunate to meet!)
Our hearts are breaking for you, for ourselves, for the whole dang Universe...
But not for Maggy!
Words cannot capture her extraordinary influence on the world. I can only say that I/our family feels extremely lucky to have received her one of a kind love, attention and wisdom. The picture captures her spirit perfectly!!
All I can think is: to have one glance...
just ONE of those gorgeous glances with that huge smile...warmed my soul and made me feel like I hit the jackpot..every time.
She is forever imprinted on our lives.
We are beyond lucky and blessed to have experienced that...ALL That!
Thank you for your tireless and countless efforts to keep her with us (physically) as long as you/she could.
Now, we look to the heavens and await the reassuring, mysterious and often hilarious signs she will send to let you/us
know that she really is walkin on sunshine!
Love you all...
