To the Carini family. I just learned of Mario's passing when I received the Messmer Newsletter. I am so sorry and you have my deepest condolences. He was always my good friend when we lived next door on Murray Ave. and at Messmer. Mario took me to my first formal dance "The Lourdes Ball". I wish we had kept in touch after we moved to California. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Our deepest sympathy to the family and Italian Community of Mario Carini.
I have treasured memories of Festa Italiana thanks to the outstanding hospitality of Mario. He especially loved Sr. Dominic Montaldi, age 100, a Sister of Charity of St. Joan Antida. And...Sister loved him. He made sure she was treated royally with the best of care at Festa. His example of exceptional kindness to Sr. Dominic was the way he treated everyone. I am so grateful for all the photos of our sisters he has posted at Festa. Mario will live on forever in the hearts of our sisters.
Peace be with you.

My first memory of Mario was at an ICC Board meeting in 1984 when the late Tony Cusatis pronounced Mario's name "MARY-O". Of course, Mario responded, "Mr. Cusatis, in these parts, my name is pronounced "MA-A-A-A-RIO." Everyone is going to miss him!
