Galaszewski, Michael "Papa Dude" "Dude" Of Oconomowoc and Arbor Vitae. "Gootenhausen!" The gates of Heaven opened to receive one heck of a guy! Thank you God for the blessing of Mike. To know Mike was to love him. His kind and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. Maybe he was your hunting or fishing companion, your fellow golfer or your partner in world travel. Perhaps you and Mike shared a Margarita at the Tiki Bar, spent time together at Rainbow's End in Minocqua, or enjoyed the fruits of his amazing culinary skills. No matter your connection, you know that Mike was hard-working and fun-loving. He was a true jokester and storyteller with a great smile, a twinkle in his eye, and a generous heart. Mike was a Master Plumber and co-owner of Alpine Plumbing. His staff and coworkers were like family to him, and he developed many lasting friendships with builders, contractors, and salesmen. Mike's greatest joy in life was his family. Mike is best friend and beloved husband to Nancy. They have been inseparable since meeting 50 years ago. Not a day went by that he didn't make her laugh. He is always loving and protective father to Michelle (David) Schlomer and Renee Wiedower. He is very proud Papa Dude to Jacob, Vivienne, Jack, Lloyd, Ryan, and Brigitte. And to Mader, his four-legged buddy. He is also survived by brothers Mark (Diana), Joe (Sharon), and Chip (Dianne), brother-in-law Tom, and father-in-Law Ray, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends. Sincere thanks to all who supported Mike and Nancy with gifts of prayers, food, love, cards, and time. Special thanks to Dr. Rodrigues, the nurses, and staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center. They gave us the ammo for Mike's courageous and brutal 21 month battle against esophageal cancer. He was a true Warrior! Our memories will comfort us until we meet again. Carpe Diem. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated THURSDAY April 21 at 11:00 AM at the BASILICA OF ST. JOSAPHAT (601 W. Lincoln Ave. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Private cremation.
