Michael Janik Obituary

Janik, Michael D. "Fish" December 2, 2007. Went to go fishing with his dad, the late Paul, after a valiant two year battle with cancer. Mike was 47 years old and the very proud and cherished dad to Flynn and Tess. A loving husband to Jennifer. Best friend and brother to Jim. Faithful companion to Hope (dog), who never left his side. He will also be lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends. Mike was a honest, compassionate man who loved music, hunting and fishing. Mike left us far too soon but he will remain in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Flynn and Tess Janik Foundation, c/o M&I Bank, 16570 W. Bluemound Rd, Brookfield, WI 53005. (262) 641-6487. You can either mail to the above address or stop in at any M&I branch to donate. A celebration of Mike's life will be on Thurs., December 6, 10-11:45AM, Funeral Service, at 12:00PM, at Krause Funeral Homes, 7001 West Brown Deer Road 414-354-9400.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious."
~Author Unknown

I have been in the unique position of being Mike's almost ister-in-law, dating his brother Jim for many years. I have seen Mike in his fishing mode, partying and concert seeking mode, prideful of his children mode (who he cherished), shopping for jewelery mode (which took forever if you ever went to a festival with him) and finally his death and dying mode. He was a unique individual who brought unique attributes to our world. He will be sorely missed and referred to and thought of for years to come.
