Nancy Davidson Obituary

Nancy S. Davidson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Davidson.

Nancy Schewe Davidson, beloved wife of Willie G. Davidson, proud mother of Karen, Bill and Michael, adored Nana of Cara.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, daughter of Amanda and Henry Schewe. Nancy attended Mount Mary University and upon graduating Nancy became an elementary school teacher. In 1957 Nancy married High School sweetheart Bill (later to become known as Willie G) Davidson. It was through this union that Nancy became active in motorcycling and before too long she and Bill were to be seen together at motorcycling events throughout the Midwest. She was a global icon for riders everywhere.

Her passion for adventure included traveling throughout the country- often with Willie and her family all on motorcycles, camping in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin, snow skiing, she was an enthusiastic fan of all things horses and motorcycle racing. She loved spending time in her garden and cooking for friends and family.

A lifelong commitment to giving included an ongoing association with Muscular Dystrophy Association and various Diabetes charities both with a focus on children's needs. She was a proud member and President of the Elm Grove Women's club. Nancy was inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame in recognition of her long-term positive impact on the motorcycling community. Traveling together as globally recognized Motorcycling ambassadors, Nancy and Willie attended thousands of charity and customer events including Daytona Bike Week, Sturgis, and many International events. As a brand ambassador she strengthened the sport of motorcycling for women. Throughout her support efforts for MDA, she helped raise millions to help children.

Her contribution to the growth of Harley-Davidson was evident through the many Dealer rides and Dealer events that she passionately supported. Given her massive contributions over the bulk of her lifetime it is clear why Nancy is widely regarded as the "first lady of motorcycling". In her later years Nancy remained committed to children's education. She put family first above all else. She was famous for her kindness to others. She had enthusiasm for people from all walks of life from all over the globe.

She loved sharing passion for family, motorcycles. and this country.

She lived a beautiful, adventurous 89 years that gave her glorious stories to share, stories populated by so many that loved her so dearly. The painful sting of loss right now is tempered by her release from suffering, but even the cancer that brought her down was no match for her beauty which radiated through it all, right up to the end.

Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, July 18, from 2-6pm. Additional visitation at the funeral home on Monday, July 19 at 11am. Funeral service at 1pm. Memorials appreciated to The American Cancer Society or The Froedtert Foundation for the Cancer Center.

I am sending a dove to heaven with a parcel on its wings...
Be careful when you open it, it´s full of beautiful things.
Inside are a million kisses wrapped up in a million hugs...
To say how much I miss you and to send you all my love.
I hold you close within my heart and there you will remain...
To walk with me throughout my life until we meet again.
My heartfelt sympathy to the Davidson family. I am forever grateful to have known Nancy and forever grateful to have been a part of the HD family.
Truly a " Magnificent " First Lady .
Thank you Nancy. Ride Safe.

Nancy Davidson is one if the nicest, friendliest, most beautiful persons to have ever been an integral part of the American Iconic Company we all know and
have LOVED for many decades........ our Harley Davidson Motor Company.
Over many, many years I have talked personally with Nancy at motorcycle rallies and racing events in Sturgis, Daytona Beach, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, Springfield, IL.
Many big H-D Bike Shows, the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, the Rushmore Plaza Convention Center, Rushmore Holiday Inn, etc.
I cannot ever remember seeing Nancy without a big smile on her face and friendly, welcoming greeting.
I remember reading an article written about her in the Enthusiast Magazine several years ago. I ran into her at the big Ride-in Bike Show in Milwaukee....... shortly after reading about her in that article. I told her that in all of my years of receiving the Enthusiast..... the article about her was BY FAR THE VERY BEST article that had ever been in the Enthusiast. You should have seen HER SMILE !!! She gave me a big hug and THANKED ME over and over!!! I also told her that of ALL the people that was on the "inside of Harley-Davidson"........ that SHE had my vote as truly being NUMBER ONE !!!
I cannot begin to recall the NUMEROUS times I would see her alongside Willie G. over so many years. Always together!
Nancy truly LOVED the people that supported the Motor Company and its riders and owners. She would continually THANK those of us that truly LOVED and SUPPORTED her beloved Motor Company.
To Willie G., Bill, Karen, Michael and GrandDaughter....... please know that we too LOVED Nancy and will GREATLY MISS HER.
We offer to you our most sincere condolences. We wish for God´s Healing Power to guide your Family with such a huge loss in your hearts. Please know that we too will always remember Nancy with warm thoughts.
All people that were fortunate enough to ever have met and spoken with Nancy can understand your absolute LOVE for HER........ now and forever.
We wish God´s Speed to all of Nancy´s Family...... and will continue to keep all of you in our hearts and prayers.
May God Bless you all.
Sincerely,
J. Mac and Sondra McKeever
