Norman Osgood Obituary

Osgood, Norman Saturday, February 11, 2017. Age 81 years. Loving father of Wendy, Brian, Bruce, Teresa (James Killian), Brett (Jennifer) and Bradley (friend-Rachel) Osgood. Cherished grandfather of Brittany, Hannah and Margaret; Chance; Audrey; Jack and Luke; Grace, Livvy and Reese. Special friend of Mary Ann Yoss. Treasured brother of Wayne (Joan) Osgood, Gerald (the late Esther) and the late Barbara (the late Wayne) Frederixon. Dear father-in-law of Joan Osgood and Yesim Osgood. Also survived by other family members and friends. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1965, Norman and Gail moved to Oak Creek, Wisconsin with Wendy and Brian to continue their family and start a business. They went on to have Bruce, Terri, Brad and Brett. They opened Brentwood Animal Hospital in 1967 in the family's 2 car garage. They eventual broke ground on the adjacent lot and built the clinic where it exists today. He worked tirelessly to build his business, often being on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide for his family. He was an asset to the Oak Creek and Veterinary community for close to 50 years. Norman was a member of the Oak Creek Jaycees, Ducks Unlimited, and the AVMA. He played softball, golfed, bowled, hunted and fished. He also sponsored and coached his twin's Little league team. Norman volunteered at the Wisconsin State Fair for many years doing spays and neuters for demonstration for the Wisconsin Humane Society. Norman loved the outdoors, animals and most of all, his children and grandchildren. Norman enjoyed Packer and Wisconsin Badger games, ski vacations and trips to the Rose bowl and the Masters tournaments. He also loved returning to his birth place with his sons to hunt every year. He had a second home in Arizona where he escaped Wisconsin winters and enjoyed more golf and watching football. Norman will always be remembered for his firey spirit. "Stormin' Norm as he was sometimes called had a strong work ethic. He loved his clients, their animals and his family. Memorial visitation Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 10AM - 1 PM at All Saints Lutheran Church, 9131 S. Howell Ave. Oak Creek. Funeral Liturgy at 1 PM. If desired memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Human Society or MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndromes) Foundation.

I knew Norman in the 90's when I was studying in Milwaukee from London UK. He was a lovely man with a great family. Sorry to hear of their loss.

In 1970 Dr. Osgood opened up at 9pm to treat our dog who had been hit by a car. She survived because of his wonderful care. Though the years since I believe my dad looked forward to taking the family dogs in for their routine check ups just so he and Dr. Osgood could shoot the breeze. It was an honor to have known him! Thank God he passed his compassion and caring nature on to his children. My thoughts and prayers are with him and your entire family.

I had an appointment today at Lake Geneva Animal Hospital and was told of Norm Osgood passing. Larry and I have know him since 1989 and he and Dr. Brad and Dr. Brett treated our pets until we relocated last year. We actually considered making the drive to Brentwood for vet service, because Norm created the best veterinary clinic ever. Our deepest condolences to the Osgoods and extended family. He will be missed. Debra and Larry Winchell

We were very saddened to hear about the passing of such an outstanding man Dr Norman Osgood. Our family has been going to Brentwood since 1990. Over the course of the years, Dr "O" (as we called him!) took such great care of our beloved dogs Oliver and Teddy. Our hearts go out to the Osgood family in their loss of such a wonderful man. We continued to go to Brentwood over the years, and were always truly grateful for the level of dedication and love these fine people gave to our beloved pets.

Dr Osgood was always a friend to his patients who couldn't tell him their problems , but he always knew. We're forever in his debt to keep our Mackie, Haggar, Lucy & Ginger going to old age. Imagine his reception over the Rainbow Bridge! Heaven gains a caring soul where all his patients will be happy and healthy
He will be missed

I have been going to his clinic since 1967 and have many pleasant and some sad memories during that time. In the early days I have had many pets cared for by Dr. Norm His death will be a great loss to his family but they continue to carry on his legacy in their practice. I have continued to bring my pets to the Oak Creek Clinic even though I have moved to Brookfield. My sincere condolences to all the family members on their loss.
