Patrick Call Obituary

Call, Patrick Lyons Passed peacefully on December 31, 2016, at the age of 84, and was reunited with his beloved wife, Elizabeth, whom he missed deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Viola Call, and his brother, Warden P. B. Call. Cherished father of Laura, who will miss him deeply, but will carry his love and guidance with her forever. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Patricia Bzdusek, and Joyce Call, of Oceanside, CA. Proud uncle of Steve Bzdusek, Nancy D'Acquisto, Jennifer, Jake, and Jeana D'Acquisto, and Britton, Brian, Kristina, and Preston Call. Patrick proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He joined the Wisconsin State Patrol in 1955, and in 1957 was hired by the Milwaukee Police Department where he served for over 30 years, retiring as a Captain in 1987. He was thereafter appointed as Chief of the Mequon Police Department, where he served for 8 years. While working full time, Patrick obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Marquette University. He was also a graduate of the 107th Session of the FBI National Academy. Patrick was a loving and caring husband and father, who would do anything for his family. We would like to thank Dr. Dirk Steinert and nurse Kathleen, for their compassionate care over many years, enabling Patrick to travel to Alaska in 2013, as well as numerous trips to Door County. Thank you also to the Horizon Hospice care givers, in particular Edwenna, for their compassionate and gentle care. Our friendship with Pat goes back to our football and baseball times together at Custer High and Craig Schlosser Legion. We started the U. of Wis. together but Pat decided the Marine Corp was for him. We have kept in touch over the years and feel fortunate to have had dinner with him , and members of my family, last year. He was a great man, a true friend, and we will miss him.
Our sympathy and prayers to Laura and the Call family.
