Paul was a mentor to me when I was first elected to the Assembly in 1976. He was deeply respected by other legislators. He was always calm and prepared on the floor. I loved his sense of humor. He stood up for workers, minorities, women and Milwaukee.

I worked for Paul for 20 years and he was both a boss and a great friend. He was a very loyal friend and had a tremendous witt. I will always remember him fondly.
