Polly Daeger Obituary

Daeger, Polly (Nee Rosenberg ) passed away on November 19, 2015 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Giles, and will be lovingly remembered by her children Randy (the late Dick Victor) Goodman, Daniel (Monique Chacon) Goodman, and Joshua (Catherine Meyler) Goodman, her grandchildren Lisa (David) Small, Maia (Daniel Young) Goodman Young, Sarah (Michael Murphy) Victor, Aaron Goodman, Jake Victor, Arianna Goodman, Sam Goodman, and Isaac Goodman and her great-grandchildren Morgan, Jack, Hannah and Nick Small. Polly loved art, travel, her family, and entertaining friends. She explored many forms of art starting with painting and weaving and then jewelry, which she continued to produce until the last years of her life. Her map of the world had stick pins marking her travels to a multitude of countries and the photos on the walls documented those visits with family and friends. She was generous in her support of local art events and community groups. She enjoyed wearing her almost exclusively black wardrobe, donning hats (particularly her signature sequined caps) and sharing friends' food. At Polly's request, no service will be held and a private burial will be held at a later date.

Just learned this sad news! Sympathies to family. I always enjoyed visiting with her and enjoy many of her pieces as we shared a great name. (Polly)

sometimes people make such an impression on your heart, they form who you are. That was Polly for me.

polly was an amazing friend. our connection goes back to the days we lived in racine (with other husbands) and our mutual adoration of our friend there, tudy (who we lost several years ago).
a more recent connection was beth slocum, whom we also lost a few years ago.
we always had so much to talk about. she was my travel agent, then advisor.
she always had advice about everything i needed to know---food, books, art, travel.
goodbye polly.
i expect you'll have a stimulating afterlife.

Polly was an inspiration to me. When I think about living life to the fullest she immediately comes to mind. The creativity, sense of humor, love of travel, loyalty to friends and family, working hard and friendliness is indicative of a well lived life. Rest in peace Polly, you will be missed!

Polly was a special person and unique in her interests and ability to enjoy life. I feel fortunate to have had contact with her at art shows over the years. She will be missed especially by the arts community.

I consider myself blessed to have known Polly. Her quest for knowledge and jewelry technique never wained, and you could always count on her for an unabashed opinion! I loved that about her!

I will be forever grateful for an introduction she made of me to Charles Lewton-Brain, a brilliant artist and mentor in our art jewelry field. It was a most generous gesture--a gift of which I'm sure she similarly gave to many others!

My deepest sympathies to Randy, and her entire family!

Dear Family Rejoice for the memories of all the wonderful times spent together, they last forever. Thank you for sharing Polly all of these years even if she did hide my "hair do"s under her hats--we had wonderful times together over the years with both Polly and Giles. They both shall be missed tremendously. Love to you from sunny Palm Springs--Robert Parrish and Richard Steele

I have two treasured necklaces which Polly Daeger made and I know there are many others who will remember her with joy each time they wear one-of-a-kind pieces which she fashioned.
