Richard Julius Rulf

Rulf, Richard Julius Passed away peacefully December 2, 2017 at age 68. Beloved son of the late Julius and Ruth Rulf. Dear brother of Howard (Jacquelyn) Rulf and Peggy Crawford. Uncle of Daniel Doughty, Joseph Doughty, and Lisa Rulf. Great-uncle of Lennox Doughty. Cousin of Marion Meyer, Judy Timm (Del Bowman), the late Daniel Ledder, and Bob (Cindy) Oldenburg. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends. Richard was born in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Solomon Juneau High School and furthered his studies at UW-Milwaukee. Richard began his career as a railroad man at Milwaukee Road in Milwaukee, then transferred to Bensonville, IL, then Iowa, finally retiring from CP Rail in St. Paul, MN as a Mechanical Supervisor. He enjoyed cooking, camping, music of the 50's and 60's, sheepshead, and a good Manhattan. Although he never married, Richard was considered an important part of our family and many extended families. He was thoughtful, kind, generous, and always ready to help. Richard was known for his good sense of humor. He was a good friend and great brother who will be missed greatly by many. Visitation will be held Thursday at Schaff Funeral Home beginning at 4:30 PM until time of service 7:30 PM.
