Most recently, they enjoyed boating out of Annapolis, MD and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Their collection of Wisconsin decoy art is nationally recognized, and his research on Wisconsin decoys was regularly published. After the Air Force, Bob began his career at Time/Life in New York and was a marketing executive for Wisconsin Bell and AT&T in New York. In 1987 he founded Paine Communications, Inc., a corporate communications and design services company in Milwaukee. Bob remained Chairman and CEO of Paine until his death. Loving husband of Kristin (Rasmussen). Beloved father of Michael J. of Washington, DC, Gregory M. of Cherry Hill, NJ; John C. of Elm Grove, WI; and Sarah A. (Derek) Hyde of Brookfield, WI. Dear grandpa to Thomas W., Joseph C., and Kathryn H. Hyde. Further survived by his sister Jeanne (Paul) Miller of Brookfield, and his brother James (Kim) Lehmkuhl of Elm Grove and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel F. and Helen R. Lehmkuhl (Ziegler). Donations to Saint Francis Seminary, or Food for the Poor in lieu of flowers, would be appreciated. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 29 from 4 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 1260 Church St., Elm Grove, Thursday, April 30, at 11:30 AM followed by graveside services at St Mary's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are welcome to gather with the family at the Western Racquet Club for a luncheon at 1 PM. "Bob loved life, family and his many friends. His generosity and mentoring will be missed. His faith and love of God were the over-arching energy of his life." Bob and I were with the Telephone Company in Milwaukee for many years. He was a great guy; I always like his humor but more important, his intelligence; he had a wonderful wife and family. Bob will be missed by many, many people. God Rest Your Soul, Bob.

We will all meet again in Heaven. Best regards from John & Lana Mellon in San Diego, CA

We will remember Bob for his great love of boating on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. He & Kristin would return early spring as do the Ospreys and start the boating season again. All here at Shipwright Harbor will miss him greatly.

Kristin and Family:

Mine and my famiy's hearts go out to you all. Bob was a joy to be around. While working in his and Kristin's yard, I was always delighted to see his pearly whites through is tender smile. His words were kind and complimentary. He loved life through nature and enjoyed the peace of his surroundings. Bob, you will be missed and I am so blessed to have known you.

Bob's passing creates a huge void in our lives at Paine. I will truly miss him after 13 years of so many wonderful conversations with him on family matters and life, economics and politics. I am deeply saddened by his passing and my sorrow is deep for Kristin and family.

Bob was my cousin. He did an extraordinary job researching our family
history. It is something I can share with our grandchildren. I will always
be indebted to him for his work ethic on this project.

Conversations with Bob were always fun, insightful and most interesting.
His range of knowledge seemed endless. Most every gathering always included Kristin, they seemed inseparable, truly an enjoyable couple.
My prayers and best wishes to their family and friends.

Bob was extremely knowledgeable of Wisconsin decoys. As members of the decoy collecting fraternity, I feel as though we have lost not only a good friend, but also a major source of knowledge about the folk art of decoy carving and its importance to the state of Wisconsin. He will be missed. Our sympathy goes out to his family.
