Dear Rivers Family,
Sorry, to hear of your loss. I remember Bob as a officer with my Dad, Ted Ripple. I remember fun times at the Police Picnics. May you find peace knowing he is now with God. God Bless.

Dear Mrs. Rivers and Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathies as your dear husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great-grandpa has gone on to be with the Lord.
(I just found out about Bob's passing on.)
My heart goes out to you and
your family. You have been in many thoughts and prayers.
Bob was one of the "good ones". . .he was a person of integrity and conviction.
As a teacher at SP-I, I always had the utmost respect and admiration for Bob's honesty and Christian character.
I also enjoyed seeing Bob at the
voting polls over at Clovernook Park every election day. He was a man of true servanthood for his God, family, church, and community.
Milwaukee was also very blessed to have him as a police officer during the years he served.
May God continue to keep you in His loving arms as you go through these challenging days.
He will strengthen you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cheryl Lambrecht

Hey Bob!
Sorry I didn't spend more time with you. You had a very full life, and with that you have many very interesting stories. I enjoyed them all! I don't think I'll even come close to what you have accomplished, but my goal is too try harder, and with some changes I know I will be a better person.
I'm thinking of getting out my bowling ball again, just to see if I still got it.Later........

I knew Bob since he was a 3-wheel cycle officer and then as a co-worker in the Detective Bureau. He was a serious, professional and determined investigator, the epitome of "Milwaukee's Finest." My sincerest condolences to his surviving family, relatives and those who knew him personally.
I knew Merrilyn from Prima's Pizza at 24th & Wisconsin. A beautiful, smiling, giving and very, very proud sister of Bob and Jim.
I was in the 1957 Police Aide class with Jim and cried so much the night, while on duty, when he met his tragic and unnecessary fate so many years ago.
I was blessed to know this trio of wonderful people. This community was so very fortunate to have had these three within it's realm.

As a new Police Officer in 1963, Bob was looked up to and respected as a true Professional and Knowledgable Veteran Officer. He always remained the same person of respect and guidance. as fellow officers, we grieved with the loss of his brother, James. Now we all grieve for the loss of a friend. Knowing Bob was one quality of my life. Thanks Bob and our Prayers are with You and Your Family.

I am very sure Bob's first love was family and his second was being a cop; his third were his many friends and his fourth just had to be bowling. Bob directed The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Tournament at Petroff's on Capitol for over 20 years and though that event and Petroff's have disappeared, the memories live on. Because of his efforts, the annual match between the Milwaukee Police & Fire Departments continued and will mark its 31st year in 2009. Bob, though you won't be with us in person, I know you'll be there in spirit and we will dedicate the event in March to honor your memory.
To me you're a cherished friend and I am so glad you were a part of my life. You probably never knew this but I always called you my "Big Bear" and I will not only miss those bear hugs but I will miss you very, very much.
